COVID-19 Updates

quail hunting

At Moss Hammock, we are committed to health and safety.

As we begin the 2020-2021 season, we are excited to once again welcome our guests to Moss Hammock. While much has changed since last hunting season, our commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience has not. As we continue to navigate through a world with COVID-19, we want to assure you that the health and wellness of you and our team is a top priority.

Our approach to hunting and hospitality has always been to provide our guests with an experience centered around high-quality hunts with people who share a love for hunting and God’s creation. We have applied that same commitment in preparing to mitigate risks associated with COVID-19.

Over the past few months, we have consulted our vendors, listened to health officials and studied the practices of other properties to collect insights. Below is a summary of the enhancements you can expect during your stay with us this season. We hope this provides the peace of mind that we are working diligently to protect the well-being of our guests and staff.

Safety and Cleaning

We have introduced several measures focused on enhanced hygiene standards. Temperature checks are conducted at the start of every event, and any person with a fever or displaying COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms will be encouraged to quarantine off-site. Wellness materials are available to guests upon arrival, including hand sanitizer, sanitization wipes and disposable masks. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout our facilities, and all high touch surfaces (tables, counters, doorknobs, etc.) in common areas and vehicles are disinfected frequently.

Groups

As we prepare to once again share Moss Hammock with our guests, we are doing our part to limit exposure. This includes inviting groups of individuals who are familiar with each other to hunt together.

Capacity

We remain committed to delivering the highest level of service with a reduced capacity. The number of people in the lodge is limited to seven individuals so all guests and hosts have use of a private bedroom and bathroom during their stay.

Dining

We will continue to serve a carefully planned menu of southern delicacies, but tables and seating are spaced to meet social distancing guidelines. We have a single chef for all meal services who prepares plates and delivers them to the table to minimize contact for staff and guests.

Hunting

Fortunately, social distancing is a bit of a prerequisite when it comes to hunting. Regardless, our team is committed to ensuring your well-being while in the field. During hunts, our guides remain safely distanced and frequently sanitize vehicles traveling to and from the lodge. Face masks are available when social distancing is not possible. Each person is assigned a hunting stand to use during the stay, and cleaning materials are available in the shooting houses for personal use.
